Welcome to Vallby Open-Air Museum
Vallby Open-Air Museum tells the story of life in Västmanland County. Founded in 1921, the museum has grown into an open-air environment where more than fifty historic buildings have been rescued, relocated and rebuilt. Spread across 37 acres, the museum includes historic settings, period gardens, orchards, farming landscapes and traditional native breeds.
The museum aims to recreate the environments where people once lived and worked, offering visitors an opportunity to experience everyday life in the past. Explore historic buildings, meet the animals that were once kept on farms, and discover the plants and crops cultivated in gardens and fields.
