Do you have an entrance fee?

No, there is no entrance fee to the museum area. Some events might have a fee or ticket sales.

When is the museum open?

The museum is open every day all year round at 10.00-17.00. During mid winter the museum closes at 15.00. The museum settings are open daily from mid-summer to mid-August. The animals are outside all year round. Learn more about the opening hours at the museum.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome but please note that they must be kept on a leash at all times. Note only Assistance Dogs are allowed into the buildings.

Can I feed the animals?

No, please do not feed the animals. They need special food on special hours. Only the animal keeper is allowed to feed the animals.

Is parking available?

There is a free parking space just outside the museum. Parking disc is requiered. There are special charging points for electric cars.

Is it ok to have a picnic at the museum?

Yes, visitors are also welcome to bring their own picnic to enjoy in the designated picnic areas. It is not allowed to have picnic near the historical buildings.

Can we have a barbeque?

No, due to the risk of fire it's never allowed to bring your own barbecue, or light your own fire.

Is smoking allowed?

No, the museum area is a non-smoking site.
