Jämt goat

Goats from the Swedish province of Jämtland are unbred indigenous goats that have adapted to grazing in mountain pastures and to Sweden’s northern climate. In earlier times goat’s milk were important food. The breed today is endangered.

They are most often white in color with dark facial markings and a dark stripe down the back.

At the museum they help us keep an open landscape by grazing. The milk goes to their kids.
